Job Description

Clients sleep better when their tax is sorted, and an import and export trading house in Sandton needs you to sort it. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Sandton-based, with most of your time spent at an import and export trading house. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

The work, day to day

Keep client tax files complete for five years
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs

You'll need

Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
