Job Description

You'll keep clients in good standing with SARS at a small tax practice in Pietermaritzburg. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a small tax practice on the Pietermaritzburg side of KwaZulu-Natal.

What your day looks like

Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Keep client tax files complete for five years

What you need

Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act

Nice if you have

Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
