Tea Lady / Office Cleaner

People notice a clean university campus; in Polokwane, you would be the reason it shines. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Polokwane, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Clean and disinfect toilets, basins and urinals several times a shift
• Report broken fittings, leaks or empty stock to the site supervisor
• Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors following the daily cleaning schedule
• Empty bins and take waste to the correct recycling or general skip
• Refill toilet paper, hand towel and soap dispensers

• Grade 10 or higher
• Able to start early, often 05:00 or 06:00
• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks
• Able to stand, bend and walk for a full shift
• Comfortable using cleaning chemicals safely with gloves
• Honest, because you work around laptops and personal items

• Training on a floor polisher or scrubber machine
• Tea service or kitchen experience
• Chemical handling training from a supplier or contractor

• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided
• Permanent contract once the site contract is secured
• Paid overtime for weekend deep cleans

• Arrive neat and early for the interview. It is a small test of how you will arrive for a 05:00 shift.
• Mention any machines you can use, like a scrubber or polisher. Machine cleaners are harder to find and often get picked first.
