Job Description

Winter fire season is near, and a fire protection association near Worcester needs crews ready. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll report in Worcester. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Feed logs into sawmill machines and stack planks
Clear and maintain firebreaks during the dry season
Fight veld fires with beaters and water packs under a crew leader
Plant seedlings in prepared pits at the right spacing
Sharpen and service chainsaws daily

You'll need

Able to work in a crew and follow the crew leader
Passes the medical check for fire crews
Physically strong and fit for steep slopes
Valid ID

Nice if you have

Fire fighting training
Chainsaw operator certificate
