Tipper Truck Driver (Construction Site)

Real machine hours on real projects, with the plant hire company working in and around Germiston. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Germiston, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Backfill and compact around pipes in layers
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader

• Medical certificate of fitness for operating mobile plant
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill
• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads

• Certificates on more than one machine type
• GPS machine control experience on excavators or graders
• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work

• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Refresher training on new machines
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week

• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
