Tractor and Trailer Driver (Sugar Cane) – Immediate Start

You'll drive tractors and farm machines on a fruit orchard near Bloemfontein through planting and harvest. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Bloemfontein; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Report breakdowns and help the mechanic with repairs
• Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
• Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting
• Record hours, fuel and fields worked on the job card
• Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed
• Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed

• Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons
• At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
• Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
• Basic understanding of implements and settings

• Overtime paid during planting and harvest
• Training on new machinery
• Harvest bonus at season end

• Mention GPS or auto-steer if you have used it. Modern grain farms struggle to find operators who know it.
• A reference from a previous farmer is gold. Ask for it before you leave any farm job.
