Job Description

You'll drive tractors and farm machines on a maize and soya farm near Mbombela through planting and harvest. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Mbombela-based, with most of your time spent at a maize and soya farm.

What your day looks like

Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
Plant rows straight, using GPS guidance where the tractor has it
Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed

Must-haves

Reliable and sober on duty
Can read job cards and spray instructions
Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
Available to live on or near the farm
Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons

Extra points for

Code 8 or Code 10 licence for road trips
A pesticide application or spray course
