Tractor Driver (Grain Farm)

Planting to harvest, a maize and soya farm near Centurion runs on good tractor drivers. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Centurion-based, with most of your time spent at a maize and soya farm. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
• Report breakdowns and help the mechanic with repairs
• Plant rows straight, using GPS guidance where the tractor has it
• Operate combine harvesters during harvest season
• Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers

• Basic understanding of implements and settings
• Can read job cards and spray instructions
• Available to live on or near the farm
• Reliable and sober on duty

• Basic mechanical skills
• A pesticide application or spray course

• Harvest bonus at season end
• Overtime paid during planting and harvest
• Training on new machinery

• Mention GPS or auto-steer if you have used it. Modern grain farms struggle to find operators who know it.
• List the machines you can drive and the implements you have used. Farmers want to know if you can plant, spray or harvest on day one.
