Job Description

If you know tractors, a mixed crop farm near eMalahleni has steady work for you. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in eMalahleni (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting
Mix and apply sprays exactly as the farm manager prescribes
Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed
Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
Hook up and drive ploughs, discs, planters and sprayers
Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed

You'll need

Available to live on or near the farm
Reliable and sober on duty
Basic understanding of implements and settings
Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
Can read job cards and spray instructions
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm

Nice if you have

Combine harvester experience
A pesticide application or spray course
