Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract)

You'll own the monthly numbers for a logistics company in Tembisa, from journals to the management pack. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a logistics company in Tembisa. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT

• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Completed articles at an audit firm
• Power BI or a similar BI tool
