Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract)

You'll own the monthly numbers for a mid-sized manufacturing group in Vanderbijlpark, from journals to the management pack. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Vanderbijlpark-based, with most of your time spent at a mid-sized manufacturing group. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission

• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
