Job Description

You'll load and offload trucks at a container unpacking yard in Roodepoort so every delivery goes out full and correct. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a container unpacking yard on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off

Must-haves

Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
No criminal record
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
Willing to travel on routes that return late

Extra points for

Basic furniture assembly skills
Past work as a driver's assistant
A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
