Truck Loader (Night Shift)

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a container unpacking yard in Springs wants. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Springs, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off

• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• No criminal record

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Meal allowance on long-route days

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
