Truck Mechanic (Fleet Workshop) – Immediate Start

You'll service and repair heavy diesel vehicles for the long-distance trucking fleet in Pretoria East. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is in Pretoria East (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles
• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Overhaul brake systems, including air valves, chambers and slack adjusters
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck

• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks

• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
• Standby and call-out allowance

• Mention roadside or field experience. Many fleets need mechanics who can work alone at a breakdown.
• Your Code 14 is a big plus. Put it right below your name, not at the bottom of the CV.
