Job Description

Crops do not wait, and a commercial seedling nursery near Cape Town CBD needs extra hands this season. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a commercial seedling nursery.

What you'll actually do

Keep your picking card or tag count for daily pay
Follow the re-entry times after spraying, as the signs show
Clean and store picking bags, ladders and secateurs
Fill crates or bins and carry them to the collection point
Move irrigation pipes and check drippers for blockages

Must-haves

Careful with fruit, since bruised fruit is rejected
Willing to start at sunrise
Valid ID or work permit
Physically fit for bending, lifting and climbing ladders
Available for the full harvest season

Helpful, not essential

Previous harvest or picking experience
Living on or near the farm

On offer

Seasonal accommodation on some farms

Farm transport from nearby towns
