Turndown Attendant (Evening Shift)

You'll clean and set up guest rooms at a conference hotel in Polokwane to a checklist standard. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a conference hotel in Polokwane. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.
• Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Do evening turndowns with chocolates and curtain closing.
• Hand in lost property with a written log entry.

• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• Weekend and public holiday work
• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow
• Grade 10 or higher
• Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift

• Chemical handling training
• Basic first aid certificate
• A supervisor course or time spent running a floor

• Meals on duty
• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied

• A clean, clear police clearance helps; mention it if you have a recent one.
• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
