Turndown Attendant (Evening Shift) – Entry Level

Every room at this bush lodge in Prospecton should feel brand new, and you'll make that happen. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Prospecton. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.
• Update room status on the housekeeping app or board after each room.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Hand in lost property with a written log entry.
• Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
• Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.

• Grade 10 or higher
• Weekend and public holiday work
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day

• Chemical handling training
• Basic first aid certificate

• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Monthly award for best room scores
• Meals on duty

• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
