TVET College Lecturer (Electrical Engineering)

A manufacturing plant training room in Durban Central needs a facilitator who can teach, assess and keep the paperwork audit-ready. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Durban Central-based, with most of your time spent at a manufacturing plant training room. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments

• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Good report writing and record keeping
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts

• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
• Trade test certificate for artisan training posts
• Experience with QCTO occupational qualifications

• Travel allowance or company car for site training
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
