TVET College Lecturer (Electrical Engineering) – Permanent

Here your industry experience becomes lessons for the next group of learners, at a public TVET college in Pretoria East. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Pretoria East (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme

• Good report writing and record keeping
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Own transport for training at client sites

• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Travel allowance or company car for site training
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings

• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
• Put your assessor registration number and the SETA it sits with at the top of your CV.
