Job Description

Parents at this workplace day care centre in Johannesburg CBD trust you with their children every morning. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a workplace day care centre in Johannesburg CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Set up daily learning areas for art, blocks, reading and fantasy play
Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group
Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
Help aftercare learners with homework and reading
Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic

What you need

Matric
Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
Paediatric first aid certificate

Nice if you have

Experience with children with special needs
Speak more than one home language of the children you'll teach
Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities
