Job Description

Blend in, watch closely and act lawfully: that is loss prevention at a building-supplies store in Stellenbosch. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

The work, day to day

Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Share trends with the store manager each week
Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour

You'll need

Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
Able to handle confrontation calmly
Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
Good report writing

Nice if you have

Experience giving evidence in court
Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
