Voice-Picking Warehouse Assistant

You'll keep a busy building-supplies depot in Hammarsdale stocked, picked and moving out on time. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The work is in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns

• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• South African ID or a valid work permit

• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment

• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
