Voice-Picking Warehouse Assistant

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a clothing distribution centre in Pietermaritzburg, and nobody minds if it's your first job. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is in Pietermaritzburg (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin

• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred

• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
