Waiter / Waitress (Evening Shift)

This is a floor job at a hotel restaurant in Prospecton where your tips follow your service. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The site is in Prospecton; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.

• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays

• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff meal on every shift
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence
