Warehouse General Hand (Day Shift)

Every order that leaves this building-supplies depot in Kariega passes through your hands first. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Kariega-based, with most of your time spent at a building-supplies depot. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin

• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• South African ID or a valid work permit

• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate
• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment

• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
