Warehouse General Hand (Day Shift)

Every order that leaves this building-supplies depot in Kempton Park passes through your hands first. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Kempton Park-based, with most of your time spent at a building-supplies depot. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off

• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts

• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate

• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
