Warehouse Packer (Seasonal Peak)

Pick it right, pack it neat, send it out: that's the job at a frozen-food distribution centre in Benoni. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Benoni. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker

• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts

• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse

• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
