Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a building-supplies depot in Benoni, and nobody minds if it's your first job. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is Benoni-based, with most of your time spent at a building-supplies depot. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor

• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts

• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
