Water Bowser Operator (Haul Roads)

Operators at this open-pit iron ore mine near Kathu keep the ore moving from face to crusher. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Kathu; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Haul ore and waste on the haul road loop to the crusher or dump
• Push and level material on dumps and stockpiles with the dozer
• Log loads, cycle times and machine hours on the onboard system or sheet
• Report defects and lock out the machine for the maintenance crew
• Drill blast holes to the plan depth and angle marked by the survey team

• Valid operator certificate for the specific machine, from an MQA-accredited provider
• Grade 10 at minimum, with Grade 12 strongly preferred
• Code 10 or Code 14 driver's licence
• At least 2 years operating the machine in a mining environment
• Able to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating day and night roster

• Company bus from nearby towns to the mine gate
• Shift allowance for night and weekend shifts
• Annual performance bonus

• If you live near the mine, say so. Local applicants are often preferred under the Social and Labour Plan.
• Name the exact machine class and size you operated, like "100-ton rigid dump truck". Mines hire by machine.
