Welding Robot Operator (Body Shop)

You'll build parts or whole vehicles on a moving line at the seat and interior trim plant in Newcastle. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Newcastle-based, with most of your time spent at a seat and interior trim plant. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
• Record production counts and scrap on the shift board

• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Grade 12 certificate

• NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA
• Forklift licence for material handling
• Previous experience in an automotive plant
