Job Description

This is a floor job at a family steakhouse in Tembisa where your tips follow your service. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Tembisa. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.

What you need

You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus

Helpful, not essential

A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
