Job Description

Keep trucks on the road and earning at the municipal bus depot in Somerset West. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Somerset West. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck
Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
Record parts used and hours worked on the fleet system
Repair hydraulics on tippers, cranes and tail-lifts
Overhaul brake systems, including air valves, chambers and slack adjusters
Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule

You'll need

Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
