Access Control Officer (Grade C)

You'll control who comes in and out of an industrial park in Cape Town CBD, and log every visitor properly. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is an industrial park on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Speaks and writes basic English

• Firefighting or evacuation training
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
