Job Description

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a supermarket in George before they cost jobs. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: George, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods

What you need

Able to handle confrontation calmly
Discreet, observant and honest
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
Good report writing

Extra points for

Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Experience giving evidence in court
