Access Control Officer (Grade C) – Entry Level

You'll control who comes in and out of an office tower in Mamelodi, and log every visitor properly. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in Mamelodi. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Clean criminal record
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Provident fund contributions

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
