Access Control Officer (Grade C) – Permanent

The gate at an office tower in Mamelodi is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Location: Mamelodi, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clean criminal record
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• Firefighting or evacuation training
• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
