Access Control Officer (Grade C)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a construction yard in Somerset West for PSIRA-registered officers. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Somerset West-based, with most of your time spent at a construction yard.

• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors

• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clean criminal record
• Speaks and writes basic English
