Mine Security Supervisor

You'll run a shift of officers at a retail portfolio in Atlantis, keeping posts covered and standards high. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Atlantis; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Do surprise night visits to check posts

• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Matric, with a security management course a plus

• Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts
• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
• Labour relations or basic supervision course

• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Cellphone allowance
• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles

• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
