Accounting Teacher (Grades 10-12) – Fixed-Term

An independent primary school in Kariega needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Kariega-based, with most of your time spent at an independent primary school. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term

• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice

• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Experience with remedial or inclusive education
• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
