Job Description

A family-owned manufacturer in Sandton needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Sandton-based, with most of your time spent at a family-owned manufacturer. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation

You'll need

Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
Matric with Accounting
Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details

Extra points for

Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
