Admitted Attorney (Personal Injury) – Permanent

A mid-sized commercial law firm in Tembisa needs an attorney who can draft, advise and stand up in court. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is Tembisa-based, with most of your time spent at a mid-sized commercial law firm. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Track legislation changes that affect clients' businesses
• Supervise and train candidate attorneys and paralegals
• Advise clients on risk, settlement and next steps in plain language
• Draft and review contracts, shareholder agreements and legal opinions
• Brief counsel and prepare them for trial and opposed motions
• Keep trust account instructions and fee notes accurate

• Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money
• At least 2 years of post-admission experience in the relevant field
• LLB and admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Able to manage client relationships without a senior in the room
• Right of appearance in the High Court for litigation posts

• Certificate in data protection or compliance

• Clear path to directorship at some firms
• Hybrid work outside court days

• Give a short matter list with outcomes, stripped of client names, to prove your experience.
• Lead with your admission year, practice area and the courts or forums you appear in.
