Agricultural Diesel Mechanic (Tractors & Harvesters) – Immediate Start

You'll service and repair heavy diesel vehicles for the agricultural equipment dealer in Kariega. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at an agricultural equipment dealer in Kariega. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Overhaul brake systems, including air valves, chambers and slack adjusters
• Repair hydraulics on tippers, cranes and tail-lifts
• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck

• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant

• Auto electrical skills
• Hydraulic systems training

• Standby and call-out allowance
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop

• List the truck and engine types you have worked on, including electronic systems. Fleet managers screen for those.
• Your Code 14 is a big plus. Put it right below your name, not at the bottom of the CV.
