Job Description

Here is work for a technician who can find a leak fast and gas a system up properly, with the residential aircon installer in Johannesburg CBD. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The site is in Johannesburg CBD; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

The work, day to day

Replace thermostatic expansion valves and electronic controllers
Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes
Complete service reports on a tablet and have the site manager sign them
Diagnose faulty compressors, fans, contactors and control boards
Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls

What you need

SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants
Comfortable on roofs and ladders in summer heat
Code 08 driver's licence, since the job is mostly on the road
Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits
Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate

Nice if you have

Experience with VRF systems or chillers
CO2 transcritical refrigeration experience in retail stores
