Maintenance Artisan (Shopping Centre)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the private school in Vereeniging. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Vereeniging, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs

• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites

• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
• Write your CV as a skills list first: painting, tiling, plumbing, gate motors, pools. Managers scan for the skills their site needs.
