Job Description

Keep cold rooms cold and offices cool for the air-conditioning maintenance company in Bellville. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at an air-conditioning maintenance company.

The work, day to day

Replace thermostatic expansion valves and electronic controllers
Install split units, cassettes and ducted systems, including brazing and vacuum work
Respond to temperature alarms from cold rooms before stock is lost
Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes
Clean coils, replace filters and check drain lines on scheduled services

Must-haves

Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits
Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate
At least 2 years servicing commercial or residential systems
SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants

Nice if you have

Experience with VRF systems or chillers
Transport refrigeration units on trucks and trailers
Building management system alarm handling
