Alarm Monitoring Controller (Night Shift) – Entry Level

You'll watch the screens and radios at a remote video monitoring centre in Benoni, and send help the moment something is wrong. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Benoni-based, with most of your time spent at a remote video monitoring centre.

• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software

• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)

• Training on the monitoring software
• Shift allowance for nights
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment

• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
