Off-Site Video Monitoring Operator

Sharp eyes and a calm voice are the tools of the trade at a vehicle tracking control centre in Midrand. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a vehicle tracking control centre in Midrand. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software

• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Matric

• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Shift allowance for nights
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
