Job Description

Sharp eyes and a calm voice are the tools of the trade at an armed response control room in Isando. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Isando, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

  • Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
  • Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
  • Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
  • Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
  • Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
  • Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
  • Log every event and action on the monitoring software

What you need

  • Matric
  • Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
  • Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
  • Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
  • PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher

Nice if you have

  • Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
  • CCTV operator short course
  • Call centre work in the past
