Armed Escort Officer

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a farming district in Springs. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Springs, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs

• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Calm under pressure and physically fit

• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Danger and night allowances

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
