Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a farming district in Umlazi. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

Must-haves

SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Calm under pressure and physically fit
At least 2 years in guarding or response
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
